Jenny is a nationally certified acupuncturist and herbalist as well as a Registered Yoga Teacher. She has been riding since before she could walk and has been an avid student of horsemanship most of her life. She loves sharing what she has learned with others. Horses are natural partners in healing so it was only natural for her to combine her two passions, to help horses and people who seek more than just a “kick to go and pull to stop” relationship with them.
Raja Riding and Wellness
Raja Riding & Wellness takes its name from the yogic concept of the raja (royal) form of yoga where the other aspects of yoga that address development of mind, body and spirit separately through various exercises are brought together to unify mind, body and spirit into a cohesive whole. Jenny expands that idea to include the mind, body and spirit of our equine partners. She is both a horsewoman and a healer who is passionate about helping you take your riding to a new level and helping horses achieve their very best.
Riding is so much more than simply not falling off your horse, and it begins on the ground. Sometimes things we struggle with on the horse have nothing to do with the horse or our training at all. Injuries, overuse and other imbalances in the rider can inhibit the horse’s ability to respond properly to cues. Using her unique assessment skills and understanding of the demands of riding, she works with you to identify and correct imbalances that can keep you from performing at your very best.
In order to perform at our best it is essential that our body is well cared for & pain free. Raja Wellness uses a variety of modalities (often in partnership with other practitioners) to bring together an integrated healing team for both horse and rider.
Therapies may include acupressure, chakra balancing, aromatherapy, homeopathy, acupuncture (for riders only), physical training, meditation, and more!
